Lake Malawi National Park
This park is located at the southern end of the great expanse of Lake Malawi, with its deep, clear waters and mountain backdrop, the national park is home to many hundreds of fish species, nearly all endemic. Its importance for the study of evolution is comparable to that of the finches of the Galapagos Islands.

Liwonde National Park
This park is situated on the Shire River, Liwonde National Park has been described as Malawi's finest game reserve. It is a lush area of unspoilt riverine vegetation stretching over 548 sq. km. Large numbers of hippo, crocodiles, elephants, antelope and zebras can be seen especially on the banks of the Shire, while leopard, lion and serval are more difficult to spot.

Kaya Mawa
This lodge is situated on the south-western tip of the Island at the head of a crescent-shaped bay, surrounded by mango trees and ancient baobabs. Translated as 'Maybe tomorrow' in the local Tonga dialect, the lodge uses the stunning natural surroundings of beach, rock, island and lake to create a lodge of unique character, imagination and very special ambience.

Mount Mulanje
This is the highest mountain in southern central Africa. It's highest peak, Sapitwa, can be reached without technical climbing experience, but does involve some tough and strenuous hiking. There are several huts on the massiff which provide basic bedding material and cooking facilities.

Place to Stay
Likhubula Forestry Lodge: A delightful and inexpensive little cottage at the south-west base of the massiff. The facilities are comfortable and clean and the services of a cook are available. The Forestry Lodge is an ideal base for short day trips to the waterfall and Likhubula rock pools. A longer trip can be taken in good weather to Chambe Peak and Chambe hut. From here you can plan longer hikes to the Lichenya Plateau and hut, and eventually to Sapitwa.
